For some people with cancer, fear of an unknown future is a strong psychological restraint that keeps them from looking and moving ahead. For others, priorities are clearer, convictions are stronger, and each day is a gift.

Whether or not you are able to accept the concept that cancer may turn out to be a valuable experience, please try to remember that you do have a future waiting for you. Nearly everyone has hopes and dreams for themselves. Having cancer doesn't mean those hopes and dreams must go away. In fact, this experience may serve to motivate you.
None of us, even those people without cancer, ever truly know what lies ahead. But being able to plan ahead is a good sign, one that means you are ready to get back
